We open the 2023/2024 Season with Haydn's Creation.
The Creation is a monumental oratorio composed by the prolific Austrian composer, Joseph Haydn. First premiered in the late 18th century, this awe-inspiring work narrates the story of the creation of the world, as described in the Book of Genesis and Milton's "Paradise Lost." With its rich orchestral textures, heavenly choruses, and compelling solo performances, The Creation stands as a testament to Haydn's mastery of choral and symphonic composition. Accompanied by the renowned Bach Camerata orchestra, this performance promises to be an unforgettable celebration of one of classical music's most beloved masterpieces. Under the baton of our new musical director, Simon Toyne, the Northampton Bach Choir, alongside esteemed soloists, is prepared to bring you a captivating rendition of The Creation. The performance is on Friday 27th October 2023 at the choir's regular concert venue, the acoustically stunning St Matthew's church. Programme:Joseph Haydn - The Creation
