As the yuletide season approaches, the Northampton Bach Choir is
preparing to present 'A Choral Christmas', a popular event that
promises to fill the air with festive cheer including seasonal
choral pieces and some favourite carols (with opportunity for
audience participation). Highlights include Gustave Holst's Christmas Day, a choral fantasy that weaves together well-loved carols into a tapestry of jubilant harmonies, encapsulating the joy of Christmas, and Gerald Finzi's In terra pax, a composition that reflects on the message of peace amidst the backdrop of a war-torn world, offering a poignant moment of contemplation and hope amid the festive repertoire. Other treats include the Christmas Jazz Medley, a festive fusion of Walking in a Winter Wonderland and Have yourself a merry little Christmas and the beautiful My Lord has come by Will Todd. The choir is delighted once again, to be accompanied by the Bach Camarata, esteemed chamber orchestra celebrated for its authentic interpretations of baroque and classical music. This concert will be at Cripps Hall Theatre on the campus of Northampton School for Boys, with its comfortable seating (which you can choose when booking so don't delay!) and ample parking. There's also the suggestion of mulled wine ... Where else can you go in Northamptonshire to hear an experienced choir of 100 with professional soloists, accompanied by a professional orchestra? You only have to read reviews of previous concerts to know this promises to be an unforgettable evening to kick off the festive season in style.. ProgrammeNorthampton Bach Choir
