We return to St Matthew’s Church for our Messiah and Carols!
concert. The first half of the concert will feature a performance of
part one of Handel's Messiah (the Christmas sequence), with
organ, trumpet, drums, and soloists from the Northamptonshire Music
and Performing Arts Trust. In the second half of the concert the
choir lead the audience in singing popular carols including God
rest you merry, gentlemen, Unto us is born a Son, Hark the herald
angels sing, Good King Wenceslas, and O come all ye faithful.
The choir will also perform a selection of John Rutter's most
popular carols. Not to be missed!
Earlier in the day the choir will host their second Family Carol
Singalong, aimed at children and young families who would find our
regular 7:30pm start time too late … this will be held at 4:00pm and
will last an hour. In addition to a number of traditional carols,
the Singalong will include Christmas classics such as Frosty the
Snowman, Have yourself a merry little Christmas, Jingle Bells, Let
it snow, Mary’s Boy Child, Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer, Santa
Claus is coming to Town, The Twelve Days of Christmas, White
Christmas, and Winter Wonderland. Our sparkly organist
will also give us a rendition of Sleigh Ride on the powerful
organ of St Matthew’s Church! Please see the
